DemocracySpace 2026!
We wanted to share with you a project we are currently working on at Bridge 47.
Bridge 47 and partners are developing DemocracySpace 2026, a participatory urban event planned for Autumn 2026 in Helsinki.
Democracy Space focuses on how democracy can be experienced and practiced in everyday life. The initiative addresses current democratic challenges such as polarisation, declining trust and the growing distance many people feel from democratic processes.
The event is being developed through a combination of artistic practices, facilitated dialogue and immersive, participatory methods. These approaches aim to support civic engagement, democratic competences and social cohesion in accessible and experiential ways.
